The call of God
Past. Samraj received God’s call to serve Christ in a special way. While he was in Income Tax Dept., having then put up 10 years (1981-1991) of service, the sudden death of former Prime Minister of India ‘Rajiv Gandhi’ put a great puzzling question to him.
He thought: “A person with Power, Security, Position, has no guarantee for his life. What about a layman like me?”
That’s when the Holy Spirit in clear terms convicted him, “ONLY ONE LIFE T’WILL SOON BE PAST, WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR CHRIST WILL ONLY LAST”. However affluent you are, life is futile and uncertain and comes to a sudden grinding halt.
Challenged by God’s call, Past. Samraj said ‘YES LORD!’ and joyfully enteredGod’s vineyard by faith and started working for Him, though he did not have any financial support from any source or quarter.
Past. Samraj and his wife Mrs.Swarna Samraj started the ministry in different slums. Their strong quest for winning souls and an unstinted desire to serve the Lord is the driving force for Open Door Ministries.

- Completed 33 years in God’s work.
- Trained more than 100 Missionaries.
- Conducted Generation for Jesus meetings in various places.
- Circulated Generation for Jesus Magazine to more than 5000 families.
- Reaching nations through Television Ministry for the past many years.
- Planted and Established Churches.
- Maintained Samaritan Children Home in the past years (2000 - 2015).
We are grateful to God for His goodness and faithfulness throughout this 33 years of ministry - so that we may proclaim one simple yet powerful message:
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16
Future Goals
“MEGA CHURCH 2022”
In obedience to God’s call, this ministry was initiated in the year 1986. In this journey of 32 long years we faced joyful and sorrowful times, but through it all, we have experienced God’s grace and faithfulness.
God promises from Isaiah 54:2 “To enlarge our territories” and so we are praying and planning to acquire 2 Acres of land for Open Door Ministries to bring all the ministry activities under one roof.
As you know that O.D.M is completely a faith-based ministry, taking steps of faith has been our way. So as we move forward with this vision, you could take this opportunity prayerfully to extend your support as the Lord leads you for the expansion of God’s Kingdom. Let the call in Nehemiah be our call too, “Come - Let Us Build!” Neh 2:17
